Why don't perpetual motion machines ever work? - Netta Schramm

In Science Mom's Guide to Water, part 1, we learn about the property of cohesion with three simple hands-on activities. A printable science coloring book can be downloaded for free from my website (See http://jennyballif.com/science-mom-s-guide-to-water-part-1). Or you can purchase the book Science Mom's Guide to Water, Part 1, which has a bonus investigation and additional comics and puzzles: https://www.amazon.com/Science-Moms-Guide-Water-Part/dp/0999704001 And for further learning about how incredible water is, here are links to four other videos that I enjoyed watching: The Amoeba Sister's Properties of Water https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jwAGWky98c This 7 minute full-cartoon does a fantastic overview of the basic properties of water, with a simple explanation of polarity and hydrogen bonds. Sci-Show has several videos about water. I enjoyed "Where does water come from?" A 4 minute clip about the water cycle with both animation and live action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0K7VKkksyc And "Why Do We Wrinkle When Wet?" a 4 minute clip that explains why fingers and toes wrinkle up like raisins when we take a long bath: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqhoLNUTS8I And my last recommendation is a Crash Course video called: "Water - Liquid Awesome" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVT3Y3_gHGg This 11 minute clip is aimed at an older audience, but has humor and good pacing and would be appealing to a wide range of ages. It covers basic properties of water, polarity, hydrogen bonds, and even a little history about scientific discovery. And our "Literary ShoutOut" for this video goes to Brandon Sanderson (my very favorite author) and his middle grade series Alcatraz vs The Evil Librarians. http://brandonsanderson.com/books/alcatraz/ Thanks for reading, and watch for Science Mom's Guide to Water, Part 2 - Surface Tension, which will be coming to you in early January, 2017.
