Tibet is an autonomous region of China but there have been number of debates since Tibet was incorporated into Chinese territory. China asserts its claim over tibetan territory on the basis of historical relations it had with during reign of several Chinese dynasties, but many Tibetan oppose Chinese soverignity over Tibet and declare to be independent right from the eastablishment of Tibetan empire.
