2009年廖昌永 [ 情缘 ] 个人大碟 伴奏:中国国家交响乐团

This is one of the Chinese oldies. I don't know who's the original singer. This song is a love song that has some of the European style in it, especially the guitar accompaniment. The lyrics is pretty simple and maybe a bit cheesy in today's point of view, but it sounds something extraordinary when Mr. Liao opens his mouth to sing this song, it becomes so full of tenderness. Speaking of the voice, I think he is definitely one of the best baritones I've ever heard, his voice sound so natural like human speaking voices, but at the same time coming with that strong lyric quality that most singers can only dream of. He is also one of the rare baritones that sound REALLY great in all low register, middle register, and high register. Listen to the richness of the F#2 in the first verse and second verse, it is really hard to keep the richness and resonance, and still sound so natural and tender when you sing that low; and the light voice at the end shows that how well he can mix the head voice into his voice while the note is not even that high, only a B3.
