Orchestre Les Mangelepa - Suzanna - AFH887

Who does not know the 1989 deceased legendary Franco Makiadi Luambo? Franco with his extensive backing band OK Jazz influenced just about every Central African popular music and OK Jazz was more than 25 years leading the orchestra in all of black Africa. Franco 'herafrikaniseerde' Afro-Cuban Rumba by applying Congolese traditional elements of rhythm, singing and guitar playing. After Franco's death was the 36-piece orchestra OK Jazz (also called TPOK Jazz, Tout Puissant OK Jazz) split in two. One part was the group "Bana OK (in Hertme with Josky in 2009), the others formed a new band around Dizzy Mandjeku under the name" Les Champions du Zaire (in Hertme 1995). Early 2004 regrouped many former OK Jazz members and formed Odemba OK Jazz Allstars (Hertme with Madilu in 2005). If erfdragers of Odemba-style Rumba let them relive the music of Franco restored to its former glory still danceable, and with vocal harmonies, woven hypnotic guitar lines and tireless blowers. Remarkably Odemba this summer Hertme comes with Sam Mangwana as a special guest. Mangwana, one of the most extraordinary singers TPOK Jazz, lives in Angola and is especially for this concert over from Luanda to join Odemba OK Jazz.
